Indeed, Herve Renard’s sharp jawline only adds to the image of a figure hardened by the rigours of international football management, yet there remains a stylishness to the 54-year-old and his teams. His trademark crisp, white shirt hints at this. It’s an iconic aesthetic.
Renard’s resume includes (in chronological order) Zambia (twice), Angola, Ivory Coast, Morocco and Saudi Arabia who he coached at the 2022 World Cup only six months ago. Now, Renard is back at another World Cup, this time as the head coach of the French national team. It might be his most challenging job to date.
