Founded 118 years ago, the club in eastern France has a long and storied history.
That history includes a Ligue 1 title triumph in 1979 and seven domestic cups win - the most recent coming in the 2018/19 Coupe de la Ligue.
Strasbourg are one of just six clubs to have won all three major trophies in French football.
Now, though, Les Alsaciens exist to serve Chelsea in a multi-club network - and their fans aren’t happy about it.Â
Inadvertently, Boehly and the BlueCo consortium that owns Strasbourg have blundered their way into a situation that encapsulates football’s latest existential conundrum.Â
