Yokohama F-Marinos and Yokohama FC are in the bottom three!
Only two teams have never been relegated from the J-League and Yokohama F. Marinos are one of them.
F-Marinos are a Japanese football powerhouse. They are the club of Ange Postecoglou. The club that has won seven Japanese titles including two in the last six years.
This season, though, they are fighting for top flight survival.
26 games into the 2025 campaign, F-Marinos are slumped in the J-League’s bottom three. Yokohama FC, the phoenix club created after the merging of Yokohama Flugels and Yokohama Marinos 26 years ago, are down there too.
Could Yokohama be without a J-League representative for the first time next season? And what sort of impact would F-Marinos’ relegation in particular make?
