๐ช๐ช Could a former Liverpool defender help get the Baltic League off the ground?
Ragnar Klavan is the player-president of Europa Conference League qualifiers, Tallinna Kalev!
Ragnar Klavan has had a varied, somewhat unorthodox, career.
The central defender has played in the Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Italy and, of course, England where he was part of Jurgen Kloppโs Liverpool squad for two seasons.
Now back in his homeland of Estonia, Klavan has dipped his hand into the world of Eurovision (yes, really) and is the player-president of Tallinna Kalev.
Kalev are in continental competition for the first time in their 115-year history this season with the Tallinn club 2-1 down to Urartu of Armenia in the first round of Europa Conference League qualifying.
Qualification for the group stage would be transformational for the club at a time of great uncertainty within Estonian football. A cross-border Baltic League with Latvia and Lithuania has been proposed with Klavan believed to back the idea.
Could the former Liverpool defender help force change in the region?
