By most measures, Hibernian are a bigger club than Bournemouth.
Hibs were founded in 1875 - 24 years before Bournemouth started up. This season, the average attendance at Easter Road stands over 17,000 while the Cherries are averaging just 11,000 fans at Vitality Stadium.
Yet a recent £6m investment in Hibernian by Bournemouth owner Bill Foley has placed the Cherries above the historic Edinburgh club in the pecking order.

This is the power of the Premier League. Bournemouth might be smaller than Hibs, but they have resources most clubs in Scotland could only dream of.
Scottish teams increasingly feel they can’t refuse investment from down south despite the fact these deals are ultimately designed to further consolidate the Premier League’s dominant position.
Many view this as a deal with the devil and something that will ultimately limit Scottish football, but others argue it is a necessary evil to allow the sport in the country to grow.
